Overview

We are particularly keen to recruit people who can bring experience and skills from any of the following areas:

Finance; Business; Law; Personnel; Charity Governance

Adults of any age, gender, disability and background are all equally welcome to apply.

The trustee role is not paid but reasonable expenses will be covered, including travel and subsistence, as well as child or dependant care costs for meeting attendance, if required.

The term is for three years initially, with annual review.

Board meetings and sub-committee meetings are held quarterly.   Expected time commitment is approximately eight meetings per year and meetings tend to last 2-3 hours.

Meetings are currently held in person in Belfast but other occasional locations can be considered, if appropriate.  Reasonable adjustments that may be required, including offering remote attendance for all or some meetings, will also be facilitated.

Some travel may be expected and occasional additional attendance will be required such as visits to our services and attendance at events.

How do I apply?

We are inviting applications with a view to making appointments in Spring of 2024.  We will arrange to meet with potential trustees whom we feel will add to the board’s range of experience and skill and would hope to invite them to visit some of our services and meet with trustees and key staff early in 2024.  Please note that the final decision on appointments is made by the organisation’s central Nominations Committee in GB.

Please email Heidi at Heidi.McGreary@autisminitiatives.org to request the expression of interest form and email your completed form to Heidi, no later than Wednesday 28th February 2024.   If you require the form in another format, please advise Heidi, so this can be facilitated for you.
