Co-Ownership Community Fund
Overview
The Co-Ownership Community Fund is available to support projects which make a positive social impact in the lives of individuals, local neighbourhoods, or communities.
The fund builds on Co-Ownership’s commitment to responsible business and working for social good.
The fund seeks to fund a project or projects which will:
- Help regenerate, rebuild, and revitalise neighbourhoods and communities; or
- Support elderly or disabled people; or;
- Provide advice and educational services to promote either financial capability, inclusion, energy efficiency or biodiversity in the community.
Funding Level & Notes
The 2025/26 Co-Ownership Community Fund is a grants programme with a budget of £20,000 per annum. This is to be allocated across a range of short term (up to 12 months duration), and medium term projects (12-36 months duration).
The Co-Ownership Community Fund is open to consider all or any project ideas which fall under the headings above but would particularly like to see applications for projects which would work with social housing tenants or which would develop new partnerships to maximise impact.
- The entire fund may be awarded to a single organisation (or partnership) for a single project or divided across several organisations and projects.
- The projects may be entirely new or already existing.
- Co-Ownership is keen to see reasonable numbers of people benefiting and a geographic spread of the proposed project where possible.
- Co-Ownership will expect a reasonable amount of promotional coverage for its funding.
Eligibility
Funding is open to constituted organisations but may be held on behalf of an unconstituted group.
Criteria for Assessment
Co-Ownership will convene a panel to choose the successful projects. It will use the following criteria against the project proposals:
- A clear and identified need
- A clear plan for measuring social impact
- Participants have helped to plan the project
- Partnership working
- Uses some existing resources or match funding
- Well planned
- Locally connected
- A lasting impact in the lives of communities or individuals.
Tips for submission
- Provide as much detail as possible on who will benefit from your project
- Detail how you will measure the impact of your project on individuals and the wider community
- Where possible show breakdown of costs and how you will allocate any funds received.
