Overview

Their Dream Fund is an impactful initiative aimed at supporting women of colour-led social impact organisations through micro-grants.  In collaboration with the Alliance for Gender Equality in Europe (AGEE), they offer:

  • £2.5K grants for 10 organisations
  • A one day capacity building masterclass (in-person)
  • Networking opportunities with like-minded founders
  • Personal leadership development to help you navigate the entrepreneurial journey

This Dream Fund round is open to organisations based anywhere in the UK for those working on a social impact or entrepreneurship-focused projects.

Eligibility

You must be:

  • You are led by women of colour between 18 - 35 years of age (i.e founders/senior team; our fund is designed to boost and support young WoC-led work, in keeping with our company mission and demographic)
  • You are based/registered in the UK (reach can be global)
  • You have not received funding from GirlDreamer in the past year
  • If you are not a registered charity/non-profit, then your work has a community/social/charitable benefit
  • If you are a registered charity/non-profit, your annual turnover (in the last financial year) is less than £150,000
     

You don’t need to be a registered charity, or social enterprise to apply for the funding. However, you do need to provide evidence of your work i.e reference/letter of support and/or photographs, news articles, website, social media, reports, etc. Something where they can see your work for their own due diligence.

Funds must be used within 12 months of grant. Any unused funds must be returned to GirlDreamer.

Funding decisions will be largely based on 'need' and 'niche'. They are particularly interested in supporting those who face difficulties accessing funding.

What's on offer

  • Micro-grants up to £2,500

The fund is ‘unrestricted’, so you decide where it needs to go most.

  • Capacity building

They complement the Dream Fund with capacity-building support designed to nurture the holistic development and sustainability of women of colour-led organisations. This includes intentional training, tailored workshops, and resources online and in-person to empower leaders to confidently take the reins and drive their initiatives towards lasting impact. Topics have included: LEGAL & LOGISTICS, BRANDING, MARKETING, and FUNDRAISING & SUSTAINABILITY
