Resilience Fund

Value of grant - €5,000 - €50.000 per year, average grant size €35,000

Applications open - March 3, 2025

Applications close - March 31, 2025

Most of Mama Cash’s grants are made under the Resilience Fund, with the focus on core support to partners that they commit to funding for several years. This Fund has no geographic restrictions, and they fund in every region, every year. However, each year, they open a Letter of Interest (LOI) window and invite groups that we are not currently funding to send us an application – this annual window for new groups can be geographically restricted. These restrictions are announced when the application window opens, and does not affect our long-terms partners who will continue to receive their grants.

During the 2025 Resilience Fund LOI window, Mama Cash is inviting applications from self-led feminist organisations and initiatives based in the following regions: The Americas and Caribbean, Europe, Central Asia and North Asia. Applicants for new Resilience Fund grants that are not based in the above-listed regions will not be considered this year.

The Revolution Fund

Value of grant - Maximum of €10,000

The Revolution Fund is Mama Cash’s participatory grantmaking fund that enables them to respond to funding requests that fall outside their other grantmaking criteria.

What initiatives are eligible?

Eligible initiatives a) respond to or create a strategic opportunity for change, b) enable a reaction to an emerging need, and/or c) seed a new project or idea.

Who is eligible for the Revolution Fund?

Revolution Fund grants will support groups and initiatives that:

  • Work from a feminist and/or women’s, girls’, trans and/or intersex people’s rights perspective; and
  • Are self-led by the women, girls, trans and/or intersex people with whom they work.

Mama Cash Advisors, staff and Board members cannot nominate any groups or collectives they are part of or have worked with directly, or that have any affiliation with their friends, partners and/or relatives.

Solidarity Fund

Value of grant - €30,000 for one year

Applications open February 20, 2025

Applications close March 20, 2025

The Solidarity Fund is a dedicated pot of funding intended for the strengthening of women’s funds.

Only women’s funds are eligible to apply for Solidarity Fund grants:

  • Self-led: women’s funds must be led by the populations they seek to support. Those directly involved in/affected by the issues the fund is trying to address must be part of the fund’s leadership and decision-making;
  • Feminist: women’s funds primary mission must be to support women’s, girls, trans and intersex people in their efforts to uphold their rights. Women’s funds must also have a vision and strategy to challenge and transform unjust power structures;
  • Autonomous: a women’s fund is not a programme of a larger entity and has independent decision making over their grants and resource mobilisation, or alternatively have concrete plans to become autonomous in the short to medium term;
  • Involved in both mobilising resources and grantmaking: women’s funds raise funds to provide grants and support to groups, collectives, and individuals that are organising to defend and advance women’s, girls, trans and intersex people’s rights.

Applicants are not required to be a member of Prospera – The International Network of Women’s Funds to be considered for funding; nascent and emergent funds are welcome to apply.

Women’s funds who have previously received a Solidarity Fund grant are welcome to apply again.

Spark Fund

The Spark Fund provides grants to communities of women, girls, and trans and intersex people in the Netherlands and on the islands of Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St. Eustatius, and St. Maarten.

Ranging from €5,000 to €7,000 per project, grants are awarded to formalised groups as well as those that may not have formal, long-term plans, but where a grant can provide the group with the needed resources.
