Overview
Programme Objectives
- Support new and innovative approaches to tackling environmental challenges.
- Support new and innovative approaches to tackle social challenges as part of the "just transition".
- Support initiatives that help to alleviate fuel poverty.
Programme Themes
The programme is aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests. Your application should demonstrate how it contributes towards these goals Sustainable Development Goals.

Eligibility Checklist
- Individuals or groups must have a constitution and a bank account in the name of the organisation.
- Entities must not support the advancement of religious or political objectives.
- Grants must not fund long-term core revenue costs such as wages, utilities, rents etc. These will only be considered for a maximum of two years of funding.
- Grants must not fund overseas trips or the repayment of loans or payment of debts.
- Grants must not support retrospective funding (i.e. paying for costs incurred before a decision on an application can be made, including loans or debts).
- Grants must not fund activities contrary to the commercial or reputational interests and activities of ORIT.
- Grants must not fund projects that are detrimental to the environment or anti-renewable energy development activities.
- Grants must not fund the development of assets not wholly owned by the applicant.
- Grants will not be made payable to an individual’s bank account (except in exceptional circumstances).
Funding
For their fourth year of funding, they are providing a further £50,000. They are accepting applications for grants up to a maximum of £10,000.
Please note, applications must have start dates after the decision date of 2nd September 2024.
