Overview

It is recognised that the discipline required within boxing can have multiple positive benefits, relating to health and fitness, anger management, a sense of belonging and a sense of achievement. As such, the services offered by boxing clubs can contribute to rehabilitation of people who have appeared before the Courts and charged with criminal offences.

PBNI is therefore now offering funding to a limited number of boxing clubs, subject to available resources, for the provision of basic kit/equipment for individuals under PBNI statutory supervision. To participate in this grant process, boxing clubs must have in place and be compliant with statutory safeguarding policies and procedures.

Funding will be solely for purchase of basic kit/equipment to enable future access to such facilities.

Kit/equipment must therefore be purchased and acquired by the end of March 2020, ready for the delivery of training programmes in 2020/21.

Boxing clubs that are successful in receiving a grant will have the amount of award capped at a maximum of up to £5k per club. Funding is dependent on PBNI’s available budget.
