Fluid AV Launches Community Connect to give surplus AV technology a second life
Audiovisual specialist Fluid AV has launched Community Connect, a new social value and sustainability programme designed to repurpose and donate surplus AV technology to charities and community organisations across Northern Ireland.
The initiative provides businesses with a practical way to put working audiovisual equipment they no longer need to good use. Companies upgrading meeting rooms, workspaces or other facilities can register and donate unneeded equipment with Community Connect, while charities, community groups and grassroots organisations can register their interest in obtaining the refurbished technology.
Fluid AV will then assess and refurbish suitable equipment, match it with an organisation that can benefit from it, and manage the process through to delivery and professional installation.
Stephen Mayne, Managing Director of Fluid AV, said:
“Community Connect brings together two things that matter to us - supporting the communities we work in and taking meaningful steps towards a more sustainable future. Too often, quality technology reaches the end of its commercial use long before the end of its life. By giving businesses a simple way to donate unwanted AV equipment, we can keep that technology in use for longer while helping charities and community groups access equipment that can make a real difference to the people they support.”
Sharon McKee, Funding and Business Relations Manager at Sense, said:
“Technology plays such an important part in everyday life, and for the children and families we support, it can have so many different uses. It can help people learn new skills, become more familiar and confident with how technology works, and enable them to participate in various activities in different ways. Having this equipment donated and installed by Fluid AV helps us make the Hub a more engaging space, while giving the people we support more opportunities to experience and use technology in their everyday lives. For us, it’s about making the Hub an even better place for everyone who comes through our doors.”
