Passive income and Micro donations
Many charities offer their supporters chances to contribute to their annual fundraising revenue through ‘passive income’ - fundraising with little effort on the organisations part. And for some smaller organisations this can amount to a lot when micro donations, made via a website or app, mean very small, but regular donations are made.
Whether buying food, electricals, or booking a hotel room, your shopping supporters can help raise your income through purchases. See how Help for Heroes promotes this form of giving to their supporters. Registration is usually free, but charges may apply (see individual schemes for details).
Online shopping
Through the easyfundraising platform, shoppers can raise a donation for their nominated good cause every time they shop online with one of the 8,000 participating retailers at no extra cost to the consumer. With more than 2 million people using the platform, it is one of the UK’s leading ways to support grassroots charities and causes and the platform has raised more than £50 million for charities and good causes since its launch in 2005.
£5,000 pledge from Tesco & easyfundraising
Tesco and easyfundraising have come together again to offer a further funding boost to voluntary groups, charities, and CICs in the shape of the “Community Pledge”.
Following on from the first Community Pledge in 2023, easyfundraising, the UK’s biggest charity shopping site, and leading supermarket Tesco, will donate five more £1,000 funding pots to good causes across the UK in May.
To qualify for a potential £1,000 funding boost, community causes can participate by registering for free on the easyfundraising platform. Once registered, every time a supporter shops at Tesco, the cause will automatically earn an entry into the draw.
Additionally, Tesco will donate £10 for each new shopper that shops with them in May via the easyfundraising platform. Register your organisation to enter the Community Pledge draw.
