Overview

KEY OBJECTIVES

As Chair, you'll lead a dedicated team of volunteer board members, work with a thoroughly dedicated group of professionals and our neurodivergent community to co-create research and evidence informed programmes that enable participants to maximise their career potential.

You'll be a champion for our neurodivergent community, ensuring their voices are heard at all levels of society and Government and their needs met. You'll be a strategic thinker, a passionate communicator, and a tireless advocate for a future where neurodiversity is celebrated, not stigmatized.

The Chair is responsible for providing strategic direction for Specialisterne NI, and leadership to Board of Directors, Chairs of Working Groups, and the Senior Management Team. The Chair will support the long-term goals for development of Specialisterne NI, it’s objectives and activities, to ensure the delivery of added value actively and promote the value of Specialisterne NI’s contribution on our neurodivergent community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Board of Directors and facilitate of the effective operation and management of the Board.

Develop and communicate to the Board on management strategy, plans and performance.

Facilitate the Board’s interaction with the Specialisterne NI’s Senior Management Team, communicating matters raised by the Board, shareholders and other stakeholders.

Act as a resource / sounding board for the Managing Director.

Chair the AGM and Board meetings and ensure they are conducted in an efficient and effective matter.

Actively network with key partners, and other stakeholders, promoting Specialisterne NI activities and establishing stakeholder needs.

Facilitate the Board’s efforts to create and maintain measures that accommodate feedback from key stakeholders.

Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Specialisterne NI’s Health and Safety and Equality Of Opportunity Policies.

Undertake any other duties as required, that are within the competence of the post holder, and conducive to the effective delivery of the role and Specialisterne NI’s objectives.

Undertake and attend any training deemed necessary under the above general conditions.

Conduct all activities with confidentiality and in accordance with the requirements of Data Protection Legislation.
