Overview
Impact Training (NI) Ltd is currently looking for an enthusiastic tutor with excellent presentation skills to deliver Essential Skills in Numeracy.
The Essential Skills Tutor will work as part of a team to deliver and assess the Essential Skills provision in relation to these contracts and related programmes. The successful candidate will carry out duties under the direction of the Quality Manager who, in turn, will provide information and reports to the Executive Director.
Please note that this post will require attendance in the work place and hybrid working will not be considered for this position.
OVERVIEW OF TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with the Essential Skills Team to deliver and enhance an Essential Skills strategy that fulfils the organisation’s contractual responsibilities and remains current in our commitment to participants and their career aspirations.
2. Develop, deliver and assess Essential Skills qualifications in Application of Number using a range of proven pedagogical approaches that reflect the needs of individuals and groups.
3. Provide positive learning experiences for participants through Essential Skills Application of Number.
4. Maintain and retain records of skills and competencies developed by, and accredited to, participants for external auditing by awarding organisations and internal quality improvement processes.
5. Apply, and promote compliance with, all policies and procedures of Impact Training as we work as a Team to fulfil our mission through a value based approach.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
The successful applicant must be able to confirm attainment of:
1. GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent, in Maths and English; AND EITHER
2. A relevant degree of which Mathematics forms a minimum of 50% of the subject studied; OR
3. Be an existing Essential Skills tutor, currently in employment (full time or part time) and recognised as qualified by the Department prior to 1st August 2012.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
It would be advantageous for the candidate to have:
a) A recognised teaching qualification (those who do not hold a qualification must be willing to undertake training to achieve a relevant teaching qualification);
b) Previous teaching experience, preferably in an area related to mathematics.
Applicants must have good organisational, administrative and communication skills, an adaptable personality and an understanding of the particular needs and problems of young people from marginalised backgrounds and/or with disabilities.
