Responsibilities
Below are some of the responsibilities a YouTube marketer is expected to assume in their position:
- Define and implement channel strategy, including long-term goals, go-to-market strategies, and key performance indicators within YouTube’s search engine
- Manage channel content, including live-stream events, digital media assets, social media marketing campaigns, and owned/earned/paid media
- Create, maintain, and promote channel content, including videos and other assets
- Develop and oversee channel community, including channel moderators, marketing managers, and network of channel partners
- Manage and enforce channel policies and guidelines
- Supervise channel operations, including staffing, facilities, and equipment
- Develop channel marketing strategy and implement tactics, including paid and organic search, social, and display advertising
- Manage channel communications, including social media, blogs, and other owned/earned/paid media
- Oversee channel business analytics, including reporting, analysis, and optimization
- Develop and implement channel budget
Job Qualifications and Skill Sets
- Below are the qualifications expected of a YouTube marketer:
- Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, communications, ecommerce, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in marketing, preferably at an agency or in-house
- Expert knowledge of social media marketing, including paid and organic channels
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Creative eye for design and video content
- Excellent time management and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
